Just like District Six and Sophiatown in South Africa, Satwa in Dubai , UAE is on the brink of being demolished and condemned to the history book of time to make way for a post-modern waterway. It is a truly fascinating place with its alleyways festooned with fluttering washing lines, bicycles,minarets and the many pairs of eyes that silently watch you as you walk about the car-littered streets. Smiles transcend language barriers ... and the coffee is warm, aromatic and sweet.
